The usual way to do it is to upload your pic to a hosting site like imageshack or whatever, then just put the URL it gives you into your post.

I have never put a url in a post, but I think you made the mistake of not putting the "[/url]" tag in the right place as it should be directly after the url.

You're right about the url end tag. It goes right after the web address, you can just edit your post and move it around if ya like, InvaderJess.
